LSR – Liberdade, Socialismo e Revolução (Liberty, Socialism and Revolution) is the Brazilian section of the ISA.

LSR fights to build a left-wing, socialist and revolutionary alternative based on the working class, youth and movements against oppression in Brazil. LSR is at the forefront of the fight against the ‘Bolsonarist’ far right, defending a socialist strategy and program based on the organised and mobilised strength of the working class and all the oppressed. It rejects and denounces the illusions in alliances with sectors of the bourgeoisie and in the role of the institutions of the bourgeois state, illusions that underpin the policies adopted by the majority sectors of the Brazilian left, especially the PT (Workers’ Party).

LSR helped found and is active within the PSOL (Socialism and Freedom Party) as a revolutionary left wing of the party, in opposition to its majority leadership which is increasingly adapted to an institutional logic and the Lula’s government. LSR members work in the trade unions (including CSP-Conlutas), student movement and movements against oppression, always defending democracy and grassroots organisation of the struggle and unity around an anti-capitalist and socialist programme.
