ISA has agreed with Socialist Alternative in the United States that the journal “Socialist World” will now be produced with an extra orientation to meet the need of the international audience.
During its short history, “Socialist World” is establishing itself in the United States as a provider of lively analysis of US politics, key historical and international events, and discussions of new theoretical ideas. Written not from an academic point of view, but by active participants in the struggle for socialism lessons are drawn, and conclusions reached that are of the maximum use to socialists internationally in their day-to-day campaigning.
The latest issue of the journal is a further valuable contribution. You can read articles analysing Biden’s new plans and the developing US/China conflict, as well as the developing ‘vaccine war’. International events such as the victory to defend abortion rights in Argentina, the national question in Europe and the ISA’s intervention in the Russian protests are covered. An in-depth critique of Modern Monetary Theory will help arm socialists against this fundamentally illusory solution to the current crisis. Lessons from the history of the Communist Party of the USA and the Margaret Thatcher era are outlined. As if this wasn’t enough to whet appetites, a review of the book “Winning the Green New Deal” concludes this issue.
The journal consisting of 58 pages in full colour is now available to International Subscribers. Currently it is available on-line, as conditions ease, it will also be available in printed format.
