As unprecedented health, social and economic crisis sweeps the planet, the capitalist system is being exposed. Bosses and right wing governments are putting profits first, with workers put in danger — sacked and impoverished, forced to work in non-essential industry, and/or deprived of the necessary protection at work.
But workers are fighting back internationally. Strikes, protests and labor disputes have arisen in country after country. The global working class has started to show that it is the social force which is called upon to turn the situation around, and ensure that lives are put before profits.
On Sunday 5 April, workers and organizers at the forefront of the developing fightback will come together for a live panel discussion hosted by International Socialist Alternative.

RYAN HARTSON, Chicago, USA. An in-store shopper for delivery multinational, Instacart, where workers are currently on strike. Ryan is fighting to unionize his fellow workers across the US. He’s also a member of Socialist Alternative in Chicago.
TINOVIMBANASHE GWENYAYA, South Africa. A GIWUSA ( General Industries Workers Union of South Africa) organizer, Tino has been to the forefront in a wave of strikes in the dairy, food and cosmetic industries in recent days. Speaking in a personal capacity
PABLO NYNS, Firefighters’ Shop Steward in Brussels, Belgium where workers in the postal, transport and other sectors have taken action in recent weeks. Pablo has played a crucial role in ensuring adequate protection for firefighters in the midst of the current crisis.

AMY FERGUSON, Unite the Union Hospitality Workers’ Organiser, Belfast. Amy organizes young precarious workers across Northern Ireland, where numerous walkouts and stoppages have taken place to force non-essential closures and proper safe practices in work.
